La Maison is the central building and the main space for social gatherings and alfresco dining. A full kitchen and dining room and living room on the ground floor and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor. A large terrace on the west side has a BBQ and seating for 16 people. A terrace on the south side is a perfect spot for an evening cocktail. The North facing terrace at the front entrance can accommodate 50 seated people for events.

La Cottage was once a barn and where the well was located. The cottage is all on one floor and has a kitchen, bathroom and large bedroom with a desk. The old well has been preserved and houses a contemporary light sculpture. The vaulted wooden ceiling and open plan gives gives a spacious feeling. There is a private terrace the north side for morning coffee and another terrace on the west side adjacent to the bedroom where you can watch the sun set.

The Jardin Suite is on the ground floor of the house and features a kitchen and dining area, a bedroom for two and an ensuite bathroom. It has its own private entrance with a library of books and objet’da’art. The bedroom has large french folding doors that leads directly to a private south facing terrace. The terrace leads directly to the garden and swimming pool. Contemporary design with with walls that are a meter thick its cozy and quiet.

The atelier is a marriage of contemporary design and traditional Quercy vernacular. A double height wall of glass connects guests to the outside with magnificent views to the valley below. An extra large dining table seats 14 guests. The studio has air conditioning which makes the top floor suitable for large dinner parties on hot summer days. A large HDTV and projector for movie night. On the lower level is a bedroom that has its own private south facing terrace.

A contemporary designed pool is nestled into the hillside. It is both a quiet and relaxing space to enjoy long summer days. Deck chairs and a picnic table with an outdoor fire pit make summer evening last well into the night. A solar canopy above the pool provides all the energy to run Vitarel while also providing shade during hot sunny days. Water reclaimed from the roof provides irrigation for the land. There is a changing room with a full bathroom. non-chlorinated water.

At any time of the year, summer or winter, the studio has a grand open space with a large table suitable for social gatherings, meetings or classes. Complete with state of the art AV equipment including a 65” 4K TV, a 4K video projector, and Sonos 5.1 sound system. Underfloor heating keeps the space cozy and warm in the winter, and an air conditioning system keeps everyone comfortably cool, even on the hottest days of summer.

The swimming pool is nestled into the hill and is surrounded by plants, a grove of olive trees and a magnificent view into the valley below. There is a large terrace and outdoor lighting and a fire pit for night time use. There is changing room with a full bathroom. The pool is covered with a solar canopy that is the power plant for the entire property providing all the energy needed. The solar canopy provides shade in the peak summer months.

Vitarel has many large open outdoor spaces for social gatherings such as weddings, reunions, and retreats. The lower garden has a large flat area that can accommodate up to 120 guests and landscape lighting ensures that events can extend into the evening. The terrace in front of the main house is connected to the Cottage and the Studio, each with its own kitchen. With four kitchens on the property, cooking for large groups is easy and convenient.
